FAQs

What are the age requirements for Summer@PBS camps?
  • Summer@PBS camps are offered to children entering grades Kindergarten - 5th Grade. Campers do not need to be enrolled at Phillips Brooks School to participate in Summer@PBS. Some camps have specific grade-level requirements within this range, outlined in the description of each camp.
What are Summer@PBS hours and do you offer extended care options?
  • Camp hours are from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with extended care available from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, and from 3:00 - 4:00pm, for an additional fee.
Are lunch and snacks provided?
  • Lunch and snacks must be packed at home and sent with the camper in labeled, appropriately-cooled containers. We recommend sending your Camper with two snacks and a full lunch. No food is provided by Summer@PBS. There is no facility to heat food. All provided food must be nut-free, in accordance with our campus nut-free policy..
How should my child be clothed, and what else should be packed for my child?
  • Please ensure your child arrives each day wearing sunscreen, weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes. Please pack a light sweater or sweatshirt, sun hat, and water bottle. Sunscreen should be applied prior to leaving home in the morning.
What safety measures are in place, including supervision, first aid, and emergency procedures?
  • All campus visitors sign in and out, campers must be signed in and out by an authorized carer or parent, students are always supervised during classes and breaks, and students are sent with buddies to the bathroom. First aid is provided by our on-site Health Office Staff from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. First aid after 3:00 pm is provided by PBS Staff. Summer@PBS and Phillips Brooks School partner with Joffe Emergency Services to provide comprehensive protocol for fire, lockdown, and earthquake procedures.
