PBS Virtual Art Show 2020: 5th-grade Exhibition

Keriann Armusewicz, Art Teacher

In advance of the all-school art show launch on Friday, May 15, I am pleased to share with you the artistic achievements of the class of 2020 with the launch of their gallery: Artist’s Voices.

Students in the Class of 2020 have encountered, as a graduating class, a new challenge - to complete their works at home or begin new works at home to display. I was impressed by their ability to pivot and adapt their ideas and processes to the new circumstances. Every member of the Class of 2020 was able to complete an artwork and artist statement. This required planning, discipline, and flexibility from students. Class of 2020 - you should be proud of what you have achieved - I know I am proud of you.

I would like to thank the Class of 2020 for your flexibility and dedication - without your work, this show would not be possible! I would like to thank the fifth-grade team – Jackie Haas, Jimmy Gerrity, and Fiona Watson – without your support and collaboration, this show would not have happened. It takes a surprising amount of coordination to do anything virtually! I would also like to thank Ashley Brandt for making possible the work of our students who have 3D printed - thank you for working with the 5th graders and making their prints come to life! I would also like to thank the administrative team for your unwavering support and to all you parents - thank you for picking up supplies and supporting your children through this process. It takes a village to make a virtual show possible.

I hope you enjoy the show!

Keep an eye out tomorrow for the launch of the all-school art show.

Be Well,
Keriann
