Kindergarten East

Hello, I am in Mrs. Cook and Miss Petersen’s Kindergarten class. This week in Science, we built flinkers out of clips and rubber bands. A flinker is something that floats and sinks at the same time. Have a Science Friday!

 

Kindergarten West


Hello, I am in Mrs. Tully and Ms. Steven’s Kindergarten class.This week in Kindergarten, we did Math Week. One thing we did was share rice and give everyone the same amount. To be successful we had to work as a team. Have a mathematical Friday!

 

1st Grade East

Hi, I am in Mr. Shin and Ms. Faruqi’s 1st-grade class. This week in Art, we made clay plates and cups. We used underglaze to make designs and add color to our cups and plates. Have a glaze-filled Friday.

 

1st Grade West

Good morning. I am in Ms. Doolin’s and Mr. Cruz’s 1st-grade class. This week in Math, we played Hopscotch math. You play by rolling a pebble on the numbers and what ever number it lands on you hop an equation for that number. Have a hopping Friday.

 

2nd Grade East

Hello, I’m in Ms. Tachis and Mr. Taylor’s 2nd-grade class. This week in Music, we recorded our voices using GarageBand on the iPads and used the app to change the sound of our voice. My favorite thing to change my voice to was the alien voice because anything you said would sound super odd. Have an outta this world Friday!

 

2nd Grade West

Hello, I am in Ms. Samuelson’s and Ms. Kridel’s 2nd-grade class. This week in math, we are working with pumpkins!  We are estimating and figuring out the actual size. Today we are going to find out how much they weigh, and if they sink or float. Have a Mathematician Friday!!!!

 

3rd Grade East

Shalom. I am in Mrs. Robinson and Ms.Kilsby’s 3rd-grade class. This week in writers workshop, we are working on pourquoi tales; pourquoi in French means “why?”. My tale is about why cats don’t like water. Thank you for listening and I hope you have a fantastic day!

 

3rd Grade West

Good morning, I am in Mrs. McCarthy and Ms.Kilsby’s 3rd-grade class. This Connect with Ms. Armusewicz, we are making a quilt, so we went to Joann’s fabrics to pick out materials for our class. We folded pieces of paper into fractions to give us ideas for how our quilt will look. Have a fraction-filled FriYAY!

 

4th Grade East

I am in Ms. Diaz and Ms. Saeed’s 4th-grade class.  This week in Art, we did sculpting. There were 3 types of clay: Terra Cotta, San Jose White and Low Fire White. I used terra cotta clay to make a bowl. I also made a mug with San Jose White. Have a messy Friday!

 

4th Grade West

I am in Ms. Mauricio and Ms. Saeed’s 4th-grade class. This Wednesday in Science, we were talking about acid rain. We did an experiment where we had a balloon, citric acid, baking soda and water. When we combined the baking soda and the acid, the balloon blew up. Have a balloon-filled Friday.
