Hello, I am in Mrs. Cook and Miss Petersen’s Kindergarten class. This week in Kindergarten we opened up beads and wires and made different jewelry or anything else. I decided to make an animal toy. Have a bead filled Friday!

Kindergarten West

Hello, I am in Mrs. Tully and Ms. Steven’s Kindergarten class. In Writer’s Workshop, I drew a story about a house. There was a storm with lightening and then it became sunny. Have a good Friday!

Hi, I am in Mr. Shin and Ms. Faruqi’s first grade class. This week in Writing Workshop, we made monsters for Halloween. We will write stories about our monsters next week. My monster’s name is Frankenstein. Hope you have a monstrous Friday!

1st Grade West

Hola amigos! I am in Ms. Doolin and Mr. Cruz’s 1st-grade class. This week in Library, I checked out a new book. I liked reading “Ghost in the House” because it is about Halloween and Halloween is my favorite holiday. Have a spooky story Friday!

2nd Grade East

Good morning, I’m in Ms. Tachis and Mr. Taylor’s 2nd-grade class. This week we went on a field trip to the Ox Mountain landfill and learned how this landfill uses the gas from rubbish and converts it to electricity.  This electricity powers the city of Palo Alto! Have an electric Friday!

2nd Grade West

Hi. I am in Ms. Samuelson and Ms. Kridel’s 2nd-grade class. This week we went to Ox Mountain Landfill. We learned a lot about how they take care of trash. It’s important that you recycle to keep it out of the landfill and to keep our Earth clean. Have a trash-free Friday!

3rd Grade East

Good morning, I am in Mrs. Robinson and Ms.Kilsby’s 3rd-grade class. This week in writers workshop, we are working on our final drafts of our personal narratives and publishing our writing. For our final work we re-copy what we wrote in our drafts and writing on special paper. I’m writing about when I broke my chin at the pool and I am excited about celebrating our final piece of writing today! Have a writers-filled Friday!

3rd Grade West

Hello, I am in Mrs. McCarthy and Ms. Kilsby’s 3rd-grade class. For our Art Connect this unit we are making a real quilt out of fabric. To begin the process, we shaped paper into triangles and squares. This was to practice for the quilt, but we also learned fractions along the way. To get the materials we are going to go on a field trip to a fabric store where we will get to choose our own patterns and cloth type. I am excited about sewing the quilt because I personally have a lot of experience with needle and thread. Have a sewn-together weekend!

4th Grade East

Hi, I am in Ms. Diaz and Ms. Saeed’s 4th-grade class. This week in Music, we played the xylophone, the metallophone, and the glockenspiel. It was fun trying out the different instruments and hearing the different sounds. Hope you have a musical week!

4th Grade West

I am in Ms. Mauricio and Ms. Saeed’s 4th-grade class. This week in Art we made paper sculptures. My partner and I made a palm tree. The challenge was to make a paper sculpture in 20 minutes and use the techniques that we learned such as a fold cut, accordion fold and a few more. Thanks for listening. Have an artistic Friday!
