Kindergarten West

Hi, I am in Mrs. Tully and Mrs. Kennedy’s Kindergarten class. This week in Art, we made pictures move without making the artwork actually move. We learned if we draw a certain kinds of lines around it, it shows it’s moving. Have an artistic Friday!

1st Grade East

Happy Friday! I am in 1st Grade East. This week in Science, we learned how to move shadows with flashlights. We also looked at how the sun moves so our shadows move too. Have a shadowy Friday!

1st Grade West

Hi,I am in Ms. Doolin and Ms. Stevens’ 1st-grade class. This week in 1st grade, we are studying different animals. I am studying scorpions. There are 2,000 types of scorpions and 40 are deadly to humans. Have a dangerous Friday, but not too dangerous!

2nd Grade East

Hi, I am in Ms. Tachis and Ms. Nicholson’s 2nd grade class. In Language Arts, we are working on our country research reports and this week we are turning our research into paragraphs. My country is China! One fun fact about China is that it used to be ruled by dynasties! Hope you have a research-filled Friday!

3rd Grade East

Good morning. I am in Mrs. Kenzig and Ms. Plasterer’s 3rd grade class. Yesterday, we went to Pigeon Point Lighthouse. Something I learned was that the Pigeon Point Lighthouse was finished being built in 1873. We visited the beaches and the lands in the area. One of my favorite parts was jumping across the rocks and seeing an elephant seal up close. Have a de-light-ful Friday!

3rd Grade West

Good morning, I am in Ms. Kridel and Ms. Plasterer’s third grade class. Yesterday, we went to Pigeon Point Lighthouse. We learned that the first boat to crash on the land was called the Carrier Pigeon, which is why the lighthouse is called Pigeon Point. There are no pigeons. We also saw an elephant seal on the beach, and they usually stay from November to the end of March without eating or drinking anything! Have a bright Friday and happy Black History Month!

4th Grade East

Hi! I am in 4 East with Ms. Diaz and Ms. Guertin. For the past few weeks in Global Citizenship, we have been working on our Explorers project. The explorer I had was Ferdinand Magellan. I worked in a group to research about different subtopics related to Magellan, such as what he exchanged with indigenous people. Then we wrote about other subtopics to present to our 4th grade community. Our group decided to present a newspaper about Magellan’s life. Have a fantastic Friday!

4th Grade West

Hi, I am in Ms. Mauricio’s and Ms. Guertin’s 4th-grade class. This week in Science, we learned about greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. We played a game and watched a video, learning how to reduce the large amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. We also learned ways we add to the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. We can help the environment by recycling and composting to reduce the amount of trash we make. Thank you for listening and I hope you have a scientific Friday!
