Physical Education

Movement is essential for learning.

Our physical education program understands the importance of physical activity and builds stamina, strength, and coordination. Physical education is also a prime opportunity to practice teamwork and sportsmanship.

Working within a community, students develop communication skills and flexibility while overcoming challenges, improving skills, and setting personal fitness goals.

Students appreciate and respect individual differences in physical abilities and diverse athletic options. PBS graduates are known for their fair play, their collaborative spirit, and their leadership on or off the field, court, or pitch.

In the upper-elementary grades, students can join interscholastic athletic teams. These teams compete locally outside of school hours. Playing team sports further develops students’ teamwork, physical coordination and fitness, and skills while layering in responsibility, commitment, competition, and sportsmanship.
