Ms. Melissa Guertin
The one thing I'm most looking forward to about working at PBS is… being part of a nurturing and caring school community.
I chose to work at PBS because… of its wonderful teachers and enthusiastic students.
One or two things you might not know about me are… that I love museums, Legos, and all animals.
From the announcement of Melissa Guertin as 4th-grade Co-teacher, in July 2019:
Melissa is coming to PBS from Synapse School, where she worked for three years as an associate teacher. Originally from Menlo Park (right around the corner from PBS, in fact!), Melissa received her bachelor of arts in art history and a teaching credential from Santa Clara University. After teaching 4th grade at a local private school, she decided to pursue her interest in architecture and ventured to Los Angeles to attend the University of Southern California to study heritage conservation. Melissa moved back to the Bay Area and worked as an architectural historian at a firm that specializes in historic preservation. After a short while, Melissa realized she missed inspiring curious young minds in a dynamic classroom environment and decided to return to teaching. Melissa is passionate about the environment, the arts, and old buildings. She enjoys traveling, photography, reading, and baking.
