PBS is committed to creating and sustaining a diverse, inclusive, equitable, and just community that is safe and welcoming for all. We also strive to build and support an environment in which each child can become a confident, respectful, and compassionate individual by accepting and valuing the uniqueness of self and others.
We provide each student with opportunities to gain knowledge and develop the skills necessary to participate in a diverse, dynamic, and ever-changing world. Our global education initiatives are interdisciplinary in design and offer an integrated view woven across subjects.
What does it mean to be a global citizen? Global citizens…
- Inquire about the wider world and have a sense of their role as world citizens
- Investigate how the world works economically, politically, socially, culturally, and environmentally – past, present and future
- Act to make the world a more sustainable place
- Respect and value differences that include age, ethnicity, family makeup, gender identity and expression, learning and physical abilities, race, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or any characteristics that contribute to each individual’s full identity
