Members of the Early Learning Center (ELC) team and I attended a Reggio-based training program at the Boulder Journey School in Colorado to deepen our connection to the Reggio Emilia approach central to our program. This enriching experience provided an in-depth look at an inspirational Reggio program in the U.S., showcasing beautifully designed classrooms for infants through Pre-K, filled with open-ended toys and manipulatives that sparked new ideas for our own ELC spaces.
Professional development has always been a cornerstone of my experience as a PBS faculty member. The school consistently offers a variety of opportunities to help us grow, and there is always encouragement from mentors, colleagues, and the administration to take part in programs that align with our individual interests and areas for improvement.
When I joined PBS, I was drawn to the opportunities for professional growth and curriculum leadership, but it’s the community and relationships that have kept me here. I deeply value the collaboration, feedback, and shared learning with my colleagues, as well as the daily joy and energy my students bring to the classroom—nothing compares to witnessing their “Ah-ha!” moments.
