School Families
-
Students at PBS get many opportunities to work and play together across
grade levels. All of the K-5th grade students on campus are divided into
school families. Each family contains two or three children from each grade
level. Each adult on campus is a 'parent' in a family. Families meet on
designated days to participate in activities, learn about each other and
play together.
Outdoor Education
-
Outdoor Education plays an important role in the growth of our students. In
4th grade, the children travel to Coloma to continue their study of the
California Gold rush. In 5th grade, the children travel to Yosemite to
further their study of the formation of the earth as presented in the
Science curriculum. Both trips encourage students to build independence and
cooperation with each other and to expand their understanding of the the
outdoor classroom.
