Scott joins us from Washington DC, where he was the Director of the Middle School and Director of Studies at National Cathedral School. Prior to his four years at NCS, Scott served as the Humanities Division Head and Chaplain at St. Paul's School in Concord, New Hampshire. Scott's appointment to Head of School was made in October 2011, and he is excited to finally be here, continuing in the tradition of excellence at PBS. One particular thing that attracted him to PBS during the search was the high level of quality he experienced during all of his interactions with our community.

Isabel Ochoa, Spanish Teacher

Isabel re-joins the PBS community after a year away in Santa Barbara. She previously served as the Spanish Teacher here at PBS for 5 years prior to the 2010-2011 school year. While gone, she missed the faculty community, and the warmth and positive energy of the whole PBS community. Isabel finds herself feeling very comfortable at PBS, which encourages her to live out the school's core values.

Rosie joins the first grade team at PBS this year. In previous years, she worked at the Family Resource Center in Sonoma. Rosie is excited to be joining our community. What attracted her to PBS would be the friendly, nice atmosphere upon her first interactions, which continued through her whole time during the search process. She also is looking forward to being a part of the spirit of camaraderie among the faculty and staff.

Erin Wright, Director of Development

Erin joined the PBS community in April 2011 after moving to the Bay Area with her husband in the Fall. Prior to the move, Erin served as the Senior Associate Director of Advancement at the Washington International School in Washington, DC. During the search process, the PBS social learning program reminded Erin of her alma matter's program, which drew her further in to our school. She was also attracted to the welcoming community.

Amanda joins PBS after recently completing her Masters Degree from California State University, Chico. She will take on the role of Extended Care Director, as we add on to the program with our additional after school enrichment programs. When touring the school, Amanda felt comfortable right away. She enjoyed her time here during the search process and felt that she needed to be at PBS.

Cristina Smith, Fourth Grade Assistant Teacher

Cristina will take on the role of Fourth Grade Assistant this year. She comes to PBS from Stanford University, where she recently graduated. What drew her to PBS would be her desire to learn great teaching from our community. During the search process, Cristina felt that she connected well with her grade level teachers. She also felt like a valuable member of the community upon first interactions.

Andrea comes all the way to Phillips Brooks from Chicago. She will lead our youngest learners in the ELC Room A. Andrea felt drawn to the PBS community from the moment she drove onto campus where she felt a sense of ease about the place. She believes that she can comfortably share her experience with our community and be herself here.

Al begins his ninth year of teaching here at PBS in the second grade classrooms. Previously, he has taught for the past eight years in San Francisco. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Al greatly appreciates great space we have here and the feeling of a true campus. He feels welcomed by our community, and sees the beautiful campus as a great teaching tool.

Karen Jones, Director of Finance

Karen joined the PBS community this summer, after making her move across the country from New Jersey. Prior to her start at PBS, Karen was the Chief Financial Officer at Kent Place School for the past 10 years. Coming from a large K-12 School, Karen is looking forward to the many one-on-one interactions she'll be able to have with our community, getting to know them all better. Some aspects that drew her to PBS were the many tools and resources available to our faculty to do great work, the school's willingness to explore more cutting edge technology and the smiles on the students faces when she visited their classes.
