Japanese Culture Exchange
Posted May 7, 2012
Recently, a group of students from Menlo School, including a few PBS alumni, came to PBS to give a presentation to the 4th and 5th graders about aspects of the Japanese culture. From Bento boxes, to samurai swords and origami, PBS students had a great time learning about this culture. Thank you to our friends at Menlo for a great presentation!
In keeping with Japanese culture exchange, at chapel, two PBS students gave a presentation on the Japanese celebration of Tango-no-Sekku also known as Boys’ Day/Children’s Day, which is celebrated on May 5th, and Hinamatsuri, also known as Girls’ Day which is celebrated on March 3rd. They shared their familys' traditions on these special days with the whole PBS community.
