We are excited to announce that PBS has been selected to host our first Common Ground Speaker!
Alyson Schafer - Rules & Tools for Better Parenting: Two Terrific Topics for Preschool & Elementary School Parents
Psychotherapist Alyson Schafer is one of Canada’s foremost authorities on child-rearing, discipline and parenthood. She hosts “The Parenting Show” on Canadian TV and is the bestselling author of: Breaking the Good Mom Myth and Honey, I Wrecked the Kids: When Screaming, Threats, Bribes, Time-Outs, Sticker Charts and Removing Privileges All Don’t Work.
Ms. Schafer’s fresh approach helps parents succeed with even the most strong-willed, “disciplined-resistant” children. Her “Ain’t Misbehavin’” talks focus on diagnosing and correcting children’s behavior in a manner that restores calm and honors the individual needs of the child. Her presentations on “Power Struggles” include clear, concise advice on how to deescalate tensions through the effective use of touch, voice and body language.
There will be two different lectures.
