What are some of your favorite things about PBS? Faculty – We truly appreciate the depth of resources amongst the teachers who encourage and support the students both in and out of their classrooms. Specifically, we’ve been pleasantly surprised by how well the teachers knew and assessed our children’s developmental needs and took concrete steps toward helping them achieve their individual goals. Values – The entire community works hard at helping the students imbibe the values of kindness, inclusion and respect for all. How have you seen your child grow since they’ve been at PBS? Both of our children began their schooling at PBS in the Early Learning Center and we’ve just stood back in awe of what the school sent home to us. We knew our children were imaginative, but the school molded them into published authors at very young ages. We knew our children were curious, but it was their teachers that fed and nurtured that curiosity into a solid educational foundation and a lifelong love for learning. Whether it is artistic expression, performance opportunities, sports, or science, our children have embraced it all with equal joy. We credit the school for helping build such balanced and varied interests in its student body. What does parent-teacher communication look like at PBS? Effortless. The teachers at PBS have always been one step ahead of us in determining how to customize the program to suit our child’s skill level.. Whether it was reading in the ELC, starting reading comprehension in kindergarten, or solving logic problems in third grade, our child’s teachers were always contacting us to see if we supported the idea of letting our child try new things. Reciprocally, any time we’ve contacted the teachers with issues or concerns, we saw immediate responses and results. We truly feel that the teachers are taking complete ownership of our children and we’ve been grateful for the results. |
